How does WDFW count juvenile salmon?

Postby Nelly » Sun Mar 13, 2011 2:35 pm

I get this question a lot.

The run forecasts that have been recently released are partially based on outmigrant fry counts. How do fisheries professionals conduct their counts?

Well, they have to determine How many salmon... fry are heading down the river to salt water!

It's a very informative read and I hope you enjoy it!

Ok, I read it, it wasn't that long of an article. I wonder what happens if a predator gets in the trap with the smolts?
