Options for my new kicker

Postby Bowfinger12000 » Mon Apr 09, 2018 7:05 am

Hey Nelly and Robbo! I'm getting a new Yamaha 9.9 soon and am looking into some sort of remote steering and/or control system. Ideas? Recommendations? Is there anything I should definitely avoid? I've got a 23' Trophy with a 2015 225 ETec and currently still have my older HDS 7. Thanks guys and to anyone else with words of wisdom.

Yo Bow!

On my boat you'll see a simple tie rod that attaches the kicker to my mains. While trolling, the main is turning with the kicker and provides a tremendous amount of "rudder authority" or passive steering.

Also, consider a main engine autopilot through your electronics system. With the kicker tied to the main, it functions perfectly as a kicker autopilot at trolling speeds! cheers
