Whackin' Walleyes

Postby Robbo » Mon Apr 25, 2016 3:32 pm

Nicole and I loaded up the kiddos and headed to Mar Don Resort on the shores of Potholes Reservoir for the week. Today we jumped in with guide Shelby Ross of Ross Fishing Adventures for some walleye fishing on Moses Lake.

We launched at the crack of 10:00 a.m. and fished until around 1:30. We fished nightcrawlers on Mustad Slow Death hooks and had a lot of bites, landing ten nice walleye in the process. We were fishing in 3 to 5 feet of water.

I've hunted ducks with Shelby many times and he's a great guy to be around and knows this area as well as anyone. Plus he's a killer cook and whips us up some crazy meals in the duck blind. When it comes to ducks, walleye, and camp cookin' Shelby is the man!

I brought my jet boat and we're going to kick around here for a few more days and enjoy the sunshine, do some fishing, ride bikes, and catch up with some old friends. Today was a day to learn the ropes about these nutty walleye and then with any luck we can take our boat and catch some

Here's some pics from today ;)

Launched at the crack of 11:00 yesterday on Potholes and trolled nightcrawlers around Lind Coulee for a while. Managed to catch a few walleye and miss a few more. They were hanging in 20 to 40 feet of water. I fish for a living and have caught some extraordinary fish in my career. Nothing compares to spending time on the boat with our family though. The photo below trumps it all thumbup
