FLOUNDER POUNDER DERBY Saturday September 17th 2016

Announcing the first and perhaps the last Annual Everett Flounder Pounder Fishing Derby & Scavenger Hunt.

Sponsored by Bayside Marine, Performance Marine, Harbor Marine, John’s Sporting Goods and 710 ESPN’s The Outdoor line!

Entry is $20 per person. Each entrant will receive one ticket and you don’t have to catch a flounder to be eligible for grand prize. Tickets available at Performance Marine, Harbor Marine, John’s Sporting Goods and Bayside Marine. All entry fees will be donated to Eagle Creek Coho Hatchery

1st Place $1500 2nd place $500!!!

The challenge is to catch flounders and take them to 1 of 3 Different check points manned by the Flounder Pounder official boats to present their flounder and be awarded 1 ticket per entrant per check point.

Official boats flying a large American flag and monitoring VHF 78 will be stationed as follows:
One near the MT Baker Terminal pier (North of Mukilteo that Boeing uses).
One in the bay just to the South of the entrance to Hat Island Marina
One near the dolphin marker at the Tulalip Fishery Bubble
Official Boats will be at check points to hand out tickets from 9am to 1 pm, no more tickets will be distributed after 1pm.

You will be able to get one ticket at each of the 3 check point’s and one at the end of day when you turn in your entry ticket for a maximum of 4 tickets per entrant.

FLOUNDER POUNDER TICKET DISTRIBUTION DETAILS:
After you pound your flounder, report to one of the three checkpoints where each flounder fishermen with a derby ticket will hold up one flounder and their entry ticket then either clip the tail and keep it or if would like to release it let the captain of official boat see it and let it go (we hope you let them go if you are not going to eat them).

CAPTAIN MUST SEE YOUR ENTRY TICKET OR SEE YOU CLIP TAIL AND OR RELEASE TO GET EACH TICKET, Everyone in your boat your with an entry ticket will receive one numbered ticket for each check point visited and entered flounder. We will put tickets on a boat hook or pole and get to you so you don’t have to raft up. So if you have more flounders you pounded take them to next check point and get more tickets for your boat, hopefully you caught flounders for each check point for maximum chance at drawing which is four entry tickets per Flounder Pounder. DON’T LOSE YOUR TICKETS!

We will pull winning tickets at 2:15 on grassy area next to the Port of Everett’s 10th street boat launch.
Free barbeque for all participants starting at 1 oclock at same spot!
