Mountain Biking For Turkey

Postby BothellBikeGuy » Sat Jan 15, 2011 9:41 am

Hey Robbo, set me up for hunting turkey from my mountain bike. I really like the idea of combining my hunting with mountain biking. Only been turkey hunting 2X. Any suggestions on where to start scouting. It can't be to early to start thinking about it

I haven't hunted turkeys on my bike yet BBG, but it sure sounds like something I need to do this spring. The majority of the turkey harvest is in NE Washington and there are tons of logging roads over there. Find some with locked gates and your in bidness. The Forest Service publishes maps of all their limited access roads...that's where I'd start. Most of the birds will be down on the winter range this time of year, so head over later once it warms up a bit and they're off the private ground. Good luck and keep us posted!
