Duck Taxi

Postby Duckhunter » Fri Dec 23, 2016 8:04 pm

We had scheduled a hunt with the duck taxi on potholes reservoir but with the frigid temps it wasnt looking good (mostly frozen), but Shelby went out of his way and offered a guided corn field hunt instead, and we're glad he did. We got limits with mostly all greenheads and a couple pintails. It was quite the experience with hundreds of Mallards swarming above and dropping in the decoys. We saw thousands of waterfowl flying around throughout the day.

Nice haul buddy! Glad you were able to get on that field hunt with Shelby. That's one that I want to hit one of these days with him. Will you be doing some more hunting here on the wet side before it closes down? I hope to get out a couple more times before it shuts down.

Oh yes, every weekend till they shut us down. Had to go get some mallards in the corn just to switch it up a little. Much different than the salt tidal water that we usually hunt and it didnt dump rain on us. I need to get on the potholes reservoir if it opens up again to figure that out too.

I keep watching the weather over there in hopes that it will warm up enough to hunt Potholes. Looking at the weather though that doesn't seem likely thumbdown
