Wet but worth it!

Postby Robbo » Mon Nov 19, 2012 3:49 pm

A good friend of Duane's invited us to hunt his private field south of Puyallup today and if you looked out the window at all you know how hard it rained. Very well worth it though, as there were thousands of ducks in the little valley we hunted. The sky was literally black with mallards, widgeon, and pintail in the morning and they just kept coming in all day long tommygun

Nelson even made the long drive south so he could get Bailey the Bad Dog on her first retrieve. She got her first retrieve under her collar and then some thumbup

Nothing better to do...gotta be outside. The gear we have nowadays sure makes it a lot more enjoyable that's for sure ;)

Completely spoiled.... What a great time. The really, really crappy weather didn't matter.
Getting exposed to a duck hunt like that, the first time out is a gift. It's kind of like the guy who shoots a 176 Mulley, his first time Big Game Hunting...

I was gonna hunt that day and then I looked at the forecast and thought naaaaaa. Kicking myself now as the ducks were obviously flying low and slow with all that wind. My fireplace sure was warm though :D
