MA12 - Hood Canal Lockjaw Coho & CRAB-AVALANCHE

Went out to go catch some more hood canal coho but boy had fishing changed in a weeks time. I made the trip down to Ayock Point to try to repeat last weekend. Didn't see any life or any fish jumping around. Moved up into Dabob Bay and dropped the crab pots and found the school of fish jumping everywhere. Tried trolling, tried buzz bombs, tried wiggle warts, cut plugs, NOTHING. The only one catching fish were the two seals around us throwing them up in the air.

We let the pots soak overnight and were rewarded very nicely. Uncle Tom fired up the boiling water and we had a feast. Lots of females, but out of 10-15 dungies in a pot, we would manage between 2-5 keepers. Might be done fishing the canal, couldn't manage a bit in 2 days of fishing.

I'm saving those for a cold, windy day when we'll all need to start thinking about spring. :D
