Martha Lake

I fished a few hours at Martha Lake (near Warm Beach / Lake Goodwin) on Saturday. The lake was just stocked with Rainbow Trout about a week ago. WDFW was taking a survey of the lake as it's on their list of lakes that may be switching over to selective gear (no bait / minimum size / limited daily take). I think it's a good thing. I C&R most fish I catch. Martha is one of my favorite lakes because it has German Brown Trout. They can be a little tough to catch but if you take the time, they are there.

While I pick them up trolling deep with spoons or small Rapalas, a couple of guys were picking them up on a caddis pattern about two feet off the bottom. Here's a quick video I put together. Enjoy~

Thanks for the report Brad and what a beautiful German Brown!
The colors and spotting are really remarkable.I have not fished Martha for years but I think I'm going to have to change that soon! spy
