The Outdoor Line Billfish Bonanza

Los Suenos Resort is smack dab in the middle of some of the most productive sailfish water in the world and home to excellent fishing for blue and black marlin, yellowfin tuna, dorado, roosterfish, cubera snapper, jack crevalle, and a long list of other exciting bluewater species. Saltwater Fishing at Los Suenos
The central coast of Costa Rica is without a doubt one of the top saltwater fishing destinations in the world and one of the few places where anglers have a bonafide shot at releasing three or more billfish species in a single day. Don't think that's possible? It happens along the central coast of Costa Rica on a regular basis.
You've no doubt heard of the great sailfish action in Costa Rica, but blue and black marlin, striped marlin, and swordfish also lurk in the same waters making the billfish grand slam a definite possibility and the super grand slam, four billfish species in a single day, not out of the question. During the peak season 20 to 30 sailfish hookups a day are common and on slower days 5 to 10 hookups are the norm. Sprinkle in a few of the other tackle-testing bluewater species and...well, you get the idea!
The rocky shoreline north and south of the resort provides great action for inshore species like roosterfish, cubera snapper, jack crevalle, snook,
amberjack, bluefin trevally, and numerous other inshore species. Many of these shoreline cruisers will readily attack large surface poppers and the bottomfish species will hammer live bait, chunked bait, and jigs.
Guests of the Outdoor Line Billfish Bonanza will fish aboard 32' and 42' Maverick sportfishers moored directly in front of the resort at Los Suenos Marina and operated by local captains. The boats are set up to fish four anglers comfortably and the larger vessels can accomodate up to six anglers comfortably, though four is optimum. On a typical day the fleet will run anywhere from 12 to 20 miles offshore depending on where the fish are located. Billfish are targetted with either live bait or trolled lures depending on what kind of mood they are in. Double and even triple hookups are the norm in Costa Rica...anything can happen!

Other Activities
In addition to world class saltwater fishing the resort offers a casino, entertainment center, health club and spa, tennis courts, and an eighteen hole golf course. Other activities include snorkeling, scuba diving, zip lining, atv tours, whitewater rafting, and nature tours at Manuel Antonio National Park. Meals
The charter boats are stocked with excellent lunches, water, pop, and beer every day and the "Hook Up" restaurant located within Los Suenos Marina is the local meeting spot for breakfast prior to a day of fishing.
For dinners several restaurants are located within the marina complex or a short taxi ride is all it takes to get to the nearby town of Jaco (pronounced Ha-ko). There are many restaurants and shops in Jaco and most will cook up the fresh fish caught aboard the charter boats. The condominiums have full kitchens and a nearby grocery store has all the amenities needed to stock the rooms during your stay. This service can also be provided for a fee so that the room is fully stocked upon your arrival.
Transportation
A shuttle is provided to and from the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica on guests arrival and departure days. Approximate travel time from the airport to Los Suenos Resort is two hours.
