Jim's Breakaway Flasher

Jim's Breakaway Flasher

Jim's Breakaway Flasher is designed to allow anglers to fight the fish and not the flasher.  When a fish is hooked the flasher releases from a molded pin hole at the bottom of the flasher to allow it to slide up the line, allowing the angler to fight the fish on a tight line and not the flasher.  The flashers come in both 8 inch and 11 inch sizes and over 31 different colors, including glow and UV.  Outdoor Emporium and Sportco Warehouse Sporting Goods carry the full line of Jim's Breakaway Flasher's or log onto www.qcove.com for more information.

I fished in-line flashers for many years until one day about 3 years ago a friend used a Jims Breakaway Flasher on my boat. I was blown away at the ease of fighting the fish with the flasher not in the equation. Since then I only fish Qcove, Jims Breakaway Flashers and I've noticed a higher percentage of strikes that make it to the boat. The in-line flasher lets the fish have a leverage point to gain slack and spit the hooks, while the Qcove flasher lets the flasher slide up the line with no flasher resistance. Qcove flashers also have the latest and greatest mylar designs & colors that really outcatch their competition, and I'm not just saying that, it has been proven all throughout the PNW and Canada on my boat. Now I've gotten many friends hooked on Qcove as well. I'll never go back to an in-line flasher.

Each of my fishing buddies has at least one of these breakaway flashers. If they release when fighting a fish it feels like there isn't a flasher there, fantastic, but half the time they dont't release. We like the colors and so do the silvers, so much so that one of my buddies has taken all the original hardware off and rigged his like a regular flasher. Also, their replacement mylar stickers are great if you are an aggressive bottom fisher like me.
